Very cool.

Definitely a must do thing if you are in the area. The bridge is very long and very windy! The only downside is the price of the toll on returning (almost $50!!!)

I had the opportunity to drive across the Confederation Bridge on a recent trip to Prince Edward Island. There was no toll to go onto the island, but there is a rather expensive one to get off. Very cool structural design, and it is the longest bridge over icy water.

Tell the kids that this bridge takes approx 10 minutes to cross. When they don't believe you, have them time it. lol Be aware it costs approx $50 per carload to leave PEI on the bridge. Free to enter though if you're leaving by plane when you arrive. Views are nice, especially if you're in a higher vehicle like a... More

Somewhat of an oddity and not necessarily really a tourist site. It is an interesting experience to drive across, but it is better to look at from either side, not during the trip. The barriers are a bit high for most car passengers to see over, though the best part is the rise in the middle. We were lucky enough... More

Confederation Bridge is the world's longest bridge over ice-covered waters. The two-lane, multi-span, box girder, toll bridge is 11 meters wide and spans a 12.9 kilometer stretch of the Northumberland Strait carrying the Trans-Canada Highway between Borden-Carleton in Prince Edward Island and Cape Jourimain in New Brunswick. The bridge was built by Strait Crossing Development Incorporated, a private consortium, and... More

$46 toll for a car. Well maintained and safe. In the winter, you see the icebergs in the strait. Beautiful view and quick 14 km bridge ride to PEI.

As mentioned on the title itself, "Awesome engineering, expensive Toll." Totally unaware of the toll charges ahead, I was pretty shocked to know that it would cost us $46.50 just to cross the bridge (two ways paid while leaving PEI). However, The trip to PEI as a whole was pretty amazing experience. And of course, bridge engineering is a beauty.

We ferried over from Nova Scotia to PEI and drove the Confederation Bridge back to NB on our eastern RV excursion. What a wonderful experience. The view is spectacular and I used my cell phone to video a lot of the way so I could replay it for family back at home. Next time if we get the opportunity, it... More

Living in PEI or being close to someone in PEI makes paying the bridge toll expensive. I lived there for years and found it very difficult to pay every time I wanted to visit family in NB. All that said, the bridge is fantastic and so much better than the old days when you had to take the ferry. I... More

this is what every church should do, free to enter pay to exit hahaha. no pictures signs makes one work at making a memory of the beautiful scenery... get a gps with video component so you can take a video... cross only if you intend to stay in PEI for a while because the cost to leave is crazy!
