The menu could use some work

We go here often after kayaking for a beer or glass of wine. I love that they serve kombucha. I'm not thrilled with the food menu though. I would prefer some simple, healthy meals.

Spent Mother's Day lakeside with family in the middle of an enchanting natural environment breathing in the clean sweet scents of grass, trees, wildflowers. We relaxed. Our kids served up a top-drawer dinner--roasted chicken, fresh vegetables, salad. Drinks and desert too. We brought a portable oven. Grills, hibachis work as well if your aim is to cook out. Don't want... More

Unlike the "more popular" lakes in Minneapolis, Nokomis is my favorite because, unlike the others, it is not closely surrounded by residential homes and apartments. It is more wilderness preserved. It is also more diverse than most of the other lakes in terms of its demographics. Plus, lots of families picnic.

Lake Nokomis is a great lake to walk around with well-paved paths. This lake is less busy that some like Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun. Sandcastle Cafe is also a great place to eat which is right on the water. Get the fish tacos! :)

This is our neighborhood lake. My wife and I often walk around it - about 3 miles and takes about an hour. Most times we meet friends and neighbors and people we met because they walk when we do. It is not too crowded, has two beach areas and a separate bike path. It is nourishing to see the families... More

This is a rather large lake located on the south side of the city, not far from the airport. Lake is surrounding by plenty of green space used for softball, walking, biking, picnics, etc. Local high schools use it for cross country meets as well. There's plenty of parking but it can still be an issue at times if its... More

This is near my son's home. We go there to walk around the lake, take the kiddos to the playground, or just sit and enjoy the beauiful water.

Nokomis is such a big lake, offering so many different aspects there has to be something there for everyone. There is the sandy beach for relaxation, the expanses of verdant green grass suitable for a quiet pic-nic or an energetic ball game. You can fish on the lake, bird-watch or feed the birds. However it is not just for summer... More

This has always been my favorite lake. I'm not sure why. There is something relaxed and just plain beautiful about this place, especially in the fall.

Great pico de gallo sauce at their little lakeside diner. Stopped several times while biking and just had chips and pico de gallo sauce and watched the ducks, and a couple of sail boats. Nice resting stop.
