Two young adult males were behind the counter. One did not move his eyes from the television. No greeting. No eye contact. No smile. The other employee completed the transaction.. Women's bathroom did have any toilet paper. None in either stall. The role of industrial paper towel was on the sink rather than in the dispenser. I got the feeling... More

My friend got us a tee time, and when we arrived half hour ahead, we were told it was nearly half hour later! We learned the groups ahead of us were all employees of the course, so obviously they bumped us. Very inconsiderate. We were told since they were experienced golfers the play should go fast, though backed up in... More

Francis A Gross is a well kept course in Northeast Minneapolis which has hosted the U.S. Public Links Championship.Because it was used for a USGA championship and is on high ground, it was and is well maintained. It is a parkland course and beloved by many, especially Minneapolis "Nordeasters" but is overrated primarily because it has not been renovated to... More

Gross Golf Course in northeast Minneapolis is by far my favorite course in the area. Wide fairways, manicured greens and towering tree lined fairways give this course its charm. They accommodate First Tee players as well as all other levels of golf. It is a busy course--which is to be expected given their easy access in the metro area. Try... More

Of the Minneapolis public golf courses this one is very nice. They could do more to fix the greens but with our weather it's hard. The clubhouse is clean and they serve good food. It can be very slow at times due to location and popularity. The course is challenging but not for the scratch golfer. The sand traps are... More

Minneapolis golf courses pack you on so you are typically playing on top of each other. If you like a relaxing golf experience, I wouldn't recommend Minneapolis courses.

I will never, ever play any of the Minneapolis course on a weekend day unless it's an early morning tee time. Today was the second 5 hour round for me this year, both at Francis Gross! The first was a Sunday, 10 o'clock start. Today, a Saturday was a 12 o'clock start. Of the five Minneapolis municipal courses, this and... More
