Whoever designed this didn't make it a place for tourists. It is designed to get office workers from one building to another without having to go outside when the weather is bad. It is touted as part of Nicollet Mall.... No... it really isn't. And...More

Some of the tunnels have nice architecture on the outside too. It is kind of easy to get disoriented. Even when the weather is nice, it’s a good way to get around especially for shopping. Some stores are easier to see from inside that outside.

There is something fundamentally social about the skyway. Yes, it is there because of the weather, but the fact that the city and the developers of the downtown buildings agreed to build a network of bridges and a virtual mall 20 feet up is a...More

Wow I loved walking around the Skyway, some lovely places to eat and drink. Shame that Macy's has closed but there is still a lot to see.

This was a great way to get from point A to B in hot or cold weather. We found it particularly helpful this last weekend when the temperature was in the 90s. We even hooked up with the Skyway from the downtown CVS Pharmacy to...More

My grandkids love to wander in the skyways. There are so many things to look at both inside and out. Views of the cars a and trucks below is great. In an area that gets so cold in the winter these skyways are a godsend....More

As some one who works in Downtown Minneapolis I love the skyway as its extremely convenient. As someone who has worked in downtown Manhattan i wonder why never implemented it. I understand the difference in landscape but I can think of lot of places all...More

Was able to use the skyway system during several visits downtown. You can get around several city blocks near the Nicollette Mall without having to go outside. Great method to get around during foul or wintery weather

The skyway system is a nice amenity for any who are downtown during times when the famous Twin Cities weather starts to roar. Note that some sections close down earlier than others. This also creates a two level walking environment, separate from street level. I...More

I would suggest getting on google maps to figure out which bus stop/bus route will be the closest to you. I believe a 742 or 747 are Plymouth express routes that go into downtown(make sure you know the time of the last route... More

You can use the light rail system, for about $2 each way. You can catch it at the airport and if goes to Target Filed which is just a short walk to downtown.
