Housed in a beautiful stone building, two of the floors are an art gallery. The top two floors are a military museum with an incredible display. It is set up like a timeline, and I believe started with WWI. It is so interested, and there are short stories/memories from soldiers throughout the museum in addition to unique war memorabilia. My... More

Very unique building which used to be the county jail has been tastefully remodeled for the many pictures taken by local photographer, Jim Brandenburg. Then on the 2nd and 3rd floor they have a museum of local world war II articles from local families and also many stories and pictures of the other wars and conflicts including Korea, Viet Nam... Glad to see that the Brandenburg gallery has moved to the former historic county building in Luverne. The photos are beautifully displayed and there are docents who are very helpful. The county military museum is also located here and is well worth the stop.

The art type museum on the 1st floor was very nice. Beautiful prairie type pictures. What I really liked was the military museum located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. This was so very impressive to me. There was uniforms and memorabilia from the civil war through the gulf wars. I think this was kind of a tribute to the... More

In his hometown, Jim Brandenburg shares his love of the prairie through his amazing photography! Another level is devoted to his other "love", the wolves of Northern MN. Not to be missed if you love wolves, the prairie,... More

Some of Jim Brandenburg's award-winning photos are artfully displayed in one of Luverne's beautifully restored historical buildings. Also housed in the building is a military museum which honors local service members from each major war. Fans of Brandenburg will also enjoy a visit to the tallgrass prairie just a few miles north of town, close to Blue Mounds, operated by... More

I have been a fan of Brandenburg and his work as a photographer for National Geographic for over 25 years and have visited his gallery in Ely, Minnesota where he was involved with the International Wolf Center and had some stunning photos of the northern lights. When I visited the Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum in Alexandria, MN in May of... More
