The trail and lake are really nice, but the real gem on this trail is the Pioneer Mine, which you will run into if you walk on the trail. The Pioneer Mine is a little gem that is free (with donation) and run by volunteers. A great display with very passionate volunteers, and a great peak into Ely's past. I... More

Whether we plan to camp in the wilderness or stay at a cabin, we do the 3.8 mile Trezona Trail annually. The path has no hills and winds around Miners Lake. Periodically signs are visible that detail various aspect of the area's mining history of iron ore. The surface of the trail varies from asphalt to chipped limestone. Spectacular views... More

We stayed in the Grand Ely Lodge and appreciated that we could walk out the door to access this well maintained path. Would have liked more views of the lake.

This is a great XC ski trail, if you don't like big hills. The trail is a 3.65 mile loop around a lake formed following iron ore mining. There are signs explaining some of the history of the area. I would think that during the warmer months, this would be a great gentle trail for a family walk or bike... More

The dog was pulling me to see what was ahead around the bend all the way. Paved easy walking and jogging if you are so inclined. A few bicycles were there but plenty of room.

We visit Ely every summer and make the hike around Miner's Lake almost everyday. Gentle slopes, 4 miles, much of it through wooded area and some around old mining sites with info plaques. Occasional wildlife sightings, shaded part of the way. Feel far away without leaving Ely.

This is a quick bike ride but a great walking distance. Also by walking you can pick the raspberrys which are within arms reach from the trail. Mostly paved.

I often take my dog for a walk on the Trezona and it's a very pretty walk around Miners Lake....some hills but nothing too strenuous....is very popular with the local population and for visitors.....it's almost four miles and it can be full of biting mosquitoes at certain times of the summer so be prepared.

We brought our bikes along from TN and this was the only trail or time we used them when in Ely. We enjoyed the trail and did it twice
