For the second year running my friends and I received excellent service and advice from Adam, Drew and Vidmar at Piragis. All the equipment we hired performed faultlessly. The food was great and of generous amounts. I can honestly say that I have no negatives...More

My adult son and I came to rent a pair of snowshoes and we were promptly helped by a sales person who got us the necessary equipment. We also asked for trail recommendations and received a few suggestions, all of which were excellent. We ended...More

An unexpectedly wide selection of outdoor gear and equipment, with some unique items such as skijoring harnesses for dogs or repair parts for many types of water crafts. Very friendly staff willing to help with choices. There is also s nice variety of locally made...More

This was my first trip to the boundary waters so admittedly my experience is limited. The staff at Piragis was super easy to work with. They were easy to communicate with by phone or by email. When we arrived in Ely, they had everything ready,...More

There is nothing more exciting than gearing up at Piragis. It feels like at trading post during the golden age of the Great North. People return their canoes and bags with stories to tell. Others load up and are ready to head out. There is...More

I was fortunate to be paired with such a wonderful guide, Tim Barton, on the Howl with the Wolves Guided Tour. I didn't mince words. I've been following my life-time bucket list of 50 (this was #47) and have never had much of a camping/canoeing...More

I've always been happy with the outfitters I use in Ely, but Piragis really impressed me. I tried them instead of my usual outfitter because they had the specific canoe I wanted when I wanted it. But the whole experience was better than I'm used...More
