One of our favorite places ever. Feels like staying at grandma's with family/ friends. So clean, warm and inviting. Great location. Easy to fix your own meals or walk to several local restaurants.

I love Dorothy, she was a down to earth and a very caring lady. One could learn many lessons by her. She was one heck of a woman and very strong willed. Wish I would have actually met and talked to her.

Dorothy was by no means conventional nor was her cabin. This attraction will not consume much more than an hour of your time, but it gives you an excellent representation of what life was like on the Boundary Waters. I fully enjoyed this unique visit.

It was very interesting to see the cabin Dorothy lived in and to learn how she got up to the boundary waters and to see the way she lived.

My husband ate in this cabin many years ago. So much history. Beautiful log cabin. Got some literature on it.

Definitely research the Root Beer Lady before you come to the Museum. Great place to stop while you are in Ely.
