We arrived before 9am and parked on the street next to the park. The park is not very large but it is right next to the lake and has great views of the Canal Park area. There were not very many flowers in bloom when we were there on June 7.

We walked over two miles to get here but it was worth it. Not only were the views wonderful but the park itself was breathtaking. As we visited later in the season, many of the roses were spent but there were enough that were still blooming. What a beautiful site, nicely manicured gardens.

This is a colourful rose garden overlooking the lake. It is well maintained and offers visitors a variety of rose plants to see. Nice place to take photographs with a colourful background.
The Park connects by Boardwalk to Canal Park. This is a nice walk that is a little over 2kms. long. By car it is about 10 minutes from hotels in the Canal Park.

This is a gorgeous park right along the lake walk and is so beautifully done. We spent some time strolling and enjoying the roses and the interesting water fountain. I could see where many photos would be taken here such as weddings, engagements, class pictures, etc. Just a gorgeous area and very well done!

Enjoyed this grassy park near the waterfront. There is a natural rock stage and paths from there that go down to the water. Events are held there and one was just being cleaned up when we arrived. Parking is parallel along the London Road, or off street wherever it can be found. We parked in an empty lot of a nearby building. Enjoyed the lake views and the gardens and greenery. All was very clean. A weekend visit so there were lots of people, but it was not crowded. No restrooms.

Nice spot to walk around for an hour or so. You can walk the rose garden, which needs some better upkeep, then cross the bridge to the main park. Walk down to the water and check it out. Quite nice down there.

Be careful if you use TripAdvisor's link to Google Maps - it will take you to an empty parking lot a mile away.
When we got to the Leif Erickson Park & Rose Garden, we were amazed. It is truly an amazing Park off of Lake Superior. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The Rose Garden is gorgeous with roses of Red, White, and Pink.
There are so many wonderful views of Lake Superior. You can even make a short hike down to the Lake. The water is still cold even in the summer. We enjoyed tossing rocks into the lake. In the distance, you can set the Aerial Lift Bridge in Duluth.
The statue of Leif Erickson, the early explorer, is very neat.
This is a must stop for any trip to Duluth. Take your time and enjoy it.

This is a FREE attraction in Duluth, just past Fitgers, etc. Very pretty (lots of people get married here!) If you it it just right and all the flowers are in bloom, it's a magical place! I like to run here, however, when I have family or friends in town, I always take them here to wander around. It's kind of neat cuz it's built on top of a freeway tunnel, and it overlooks the running/biking/walking trail and Lake Superior! If you're in town, it's well worth the stop (if nothing else, it's free, so you can't beat the price!) It takes maybe 15-30 mins at most to walk through the garden part.

Busy location on weekends for weddings, so avoid Friday evening or Saturdays if you can. The vast amount of roses was interesting to see. The views are pretty amazing. I stopped twice, summer and fall (to see the colors). I attached photos. You can see the color changes in the park. I was very disappointed that during the fall peak travel time that the park bathrooms were all closed. Plenty of parking in lot and on street. If you like flowers, stop and check it out.

Beautiful rose gardens and a spectacular view of Lake Superior and the lighthouses and Aerial Lift Bridge. Roses and roses and more roses everywhere, great place for photos, nice benches for relaxing, wonderful walking path, peaceful place right in the middle of a busy city. Well worth the trip.

Where can you park for this? On a map I see a parking lot next to a medical center and a manuscript library. Is that a pay lot? Thanks!

How long do people spend an average at Leif Erickson Park?
Written 8 December 2019
We were there in July when the roses were blooming. We spent about 2 hours there, but I am a photographer, so I end up spending more time than most.
Written 10 December 2019
The Rose Garden is completely accessible by wheel chair or any device, and is flat. There are shaded areas to sit or rest and lots of lovely flowers, roses and other varieties. There is also a public restroom there.

How is the parking availability here? We're visiting several places in Duluth this week and the park is central to it all. Would be nice to park here, enjoy the park whilst picnicking and then branch out, and not have to drive all over trying to find a space!
Written 16 August 2016
We were parked at Canal Park. It is about 1 mile or 20 minutes to the Rose Garden. If able to walk that distance, the walk along the lakeshore is well worth it. There is also a shopping complex and brew pub about half way.
Written 16 August 2016
Depends on the day. I can spend 20 minutes there, or a couple of hours there. It isn't a huge garden, but it does connect to the lake walk as well, so you can go as far as you want along the lake shore from the park.
