Definitely smooth ride, The trail was closed at the beginning so I joined on trail at Buffalo RV camping. It was amazing ride. pretty clean surface and scenic of nature. I made 65 miles and was not super tired. Definitely recommended

I've biked the entire trail and it's a must try trail for the casual or serious biker. Even better is to camp at one of the three state parks located near the trail.

We enjoyed biking this trail. It was well maintained, safe, and easy to ride. We rode to Spirit Mountain via the trail from Indian Point RV Park. There is some construction going on at this time in West Duluth area.

Loved riding the Munger Trail. Mostly paved, some gravel spots waiting for repairs from storm damage. Wooded, rock cliffs, wildlife. Some long easy climbing hills (but what goes up must come down). Also using the trail were hikers, runners, and birders, Great for the family.

We stayed at the Munger Inn at the trail, head. Long gradual climb, some nice old railway cuts and views of the river valley. Lots of gravel sections which would be hell on skinny tired bikes. Could use better signage. We had no idea how far...More

Biking this trail is a blast. People also walk, run or roller-blade. All sorts of activity on the trail! Many people using it, so I never felt too isolated. The trail is nice, but going to the upper ridge by the Buffalo house is not...More

Seems like the last time I came up to bike here they had sections that suddenly were gravel! But then I think it was due to some bad weather. Now there are many areas that are waiting to be finished. You can still ride it...More

Good morning, Sorry we did not ride that part of the trail. I would suggest calling the Jay Cook State Park Ranger's office to get the definitive answer to the question. They could also tell you if it has snowed up there... More
