We enjoyed touring the barge. We learned how the ship was loaded and the people who worked on the ship. Also the dignitaries that traveled with them.

We spent about an hour in the museum. Very informative. We had gone in to get a map and information from the visitors center and found the museum. Don't miss it as you start seeing the things to do in Duluth. Paid parking near by.

Great coverage of the history of the Duluth / Superior port. Good short history of the Corps of Engineers. Good coverage of shipping on the Great Lakes.

There was a neat lady working at the gift shop. Interesting diaroma of the Edmond Fitzgeral. Everyone I saw stopped and said 'Oh, the Edmond Fitzgerald!'

Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center was our first stop during our summer vacation, and it exceeded our expectations! Jam-packed full of exhibits, short movies, and a gift shop, the maritime center brings you Lake Superior history to the present day - fascinating!

What a great place to see the shipping history of Lake Superior. Its in a neat building with a view of the lake and if your lucky one of the big ships will be coming or going while your there.

I do not know. But, I do know that both Duluth, and the Museum are great to visit any time of year, whether any ships are coming in, or not. I was very surprised at how much I liked this city, and I was equally pleased... More
