After our train ride, we decided to buy tickets to the museum because the 7-year-old we were with loves trains. [Random suggestion- include admission to the museum with the train ride.] If it wasn't for him, we would've skipped the museum. I don't think it's...More

We are a family of three and took the first class option to ride in the observatory car. We enjoyed the ride very much after seeing this train go by several times on trips to Duluth in the past. The train cars themselves are like...More

a must see for historical railroad enthusiasts. Take some time to look around inc a replica of the carriage that carried Abraham Lincolns coffin.

The museum is simply huge and the hour or so we had allowed to fit in with our trip on the North Shore Scenic Railroad was simply not enough. The steam enthusiast would probably need a good half day or more to do all the...More

We enjoyed our self-guided tour of the museum. Many of the train cars were open so you could inside and take a look around. The museum features more than 6 trains inside with more outdoors. Nice gift shop, too.

The Railroad Museum is part of the Duluth Depot which is actually four museums in one. I consider the Railroad Museum the best of the four. The Abraham Lincoln Funeral Train Car was the most interesting part of the tour. It is an exact replica...More

The museum was interesting and it was very cool to see the train cars. They also have models set up, which my three year old enjoyed. I thought it was a bit pricey for our family of four ($40), but overall an enjoyable time.

If you like trains, you'll love the railroad museum. There are restored train cars, locomotives and some excellent walk through displays. There is a ride available along the north shore and I particularly enjoyed riding in an open air car that was 100 years old.

Fun to see the trains up close and experience how big they are! Some engines and cars are open for a look inside. Great historical coverage of the lumber and mining industries in MN, too. Museum also has rooms devoted to immigrants which is very...More

This is a neat train museum with lots of interesting artifacts and of course train cars of varying ages. We took the train to Two Harbors for my dad's birthday and had a really good time. Cute gift shop and friendly employees.

If you take the train trip, it is six dollars. By itself, I believe it was twelve dollars. The train trip is very good, lots of scenery and good commentating.

There is a lot just down the street from the museum/pretty much connected to the depot museum building. There is also on-street parking but the lot is your best option. Enjoy!
