Excellent trail.
Either park at the bottom and access via actual trail (not ADA/ paved trail) OR park at the top, take the paved trail down and hike up. To get the full nature experience, as there is off-trail access from paved trail so one can access either at any time.
Very kid friendly
When we mapped it we were directed to the paved trail a block off the road, so we missed the actual entrance, we doubled back though and started from the beginning once we noticed the bridges and such along the water.
I did take photos of the entrances and exits.
Trail halfway point is another bridge, depending on the water level you would have to come up, cross the road and go back down into the trail.
Paved trails are marked with yellow plastic pillar/ bollard.
100% recommend!

My boys ages 4,10,&12 had a great time with this hike. The older ones loved exploring and jumping on rocks while the younger loved throwing rocks into the water. It’s as challenging as you want it or as easy. There is an easy paved path next to the nature path. We used the nature path since it allowed more exploring and was closer to the waterfalls, stream. We entered on Superior St right near route sign by bridge and hiked up to 4th street.

I read about this park and the trails before our trip to Duluth and was happy I made the time to visit. We bought a lunch and found a bench near the falls where we enjoyed our picnic. There was a picnic table at a trailhead entrance, but since it was hot, we opted for a shady spot.
We were to the fails in a matter of minutes and they were beautiful. We did not take the time to walk the entire trail or the lower trail, but they would have been pretty walks.

This is about a two mile hike along a stream. There are a number of small waterfalls that are very pretty. You can walk on a foot path near the water or walk on the paved bike path. This is a very easy hike that is good for all ages.

We heard about this from a friend who frequents Duluth and always brings her kids here. It's a nice gravel path with several bridges over the bottom part of the creek path. This park is on the hillside so the water falls down the mountain for about a mile. Some of the waterfalls are bigger than others as it flows. We saw a momma deer and 2 fawns when we were there, and the kid's had fun hoping rocks across the mostly shallow stream. We couldn't believe we had never heard of this path, since we really loved it. Be sure you are on the gravel walking path and not the paved biking path or you won't see the best sites! It is an uphill hike when you are going upstream and there are some stone steps to get down to the stream in some spots. The path is about a mile top to bottom.

A great little trail in Duluth to walk and see the falls. It is easy so all skill levels can do it and you can get some great pictures.

My husband and I enjoy hiking, but this was our first time taking the girls out on a hike or to see waterfalls in Duluth. Our girls are 6, 4, and 1 and this hike was perfect for them. We didn't go far and only hiked for about 20 minutes. We managed to see some gentle, smaller falls and cross over several bridges which the girls thought were fun. The trail has steps in some areas otherwise is dirt. You won't get your feet wet unless you chose to walk on the rocks, etc. but it's not necessary. I think our 4 year old was actually in flip flops. We had our 1 year old in the ergo, but she preferred walking anyway.
The bugs were really bad if you stopped moving for even a photo so I'd highly encourage you to bring bug spray - (Banning State Park was the worst with bugs in case you have that on your list too).
NOTE: don't follow the maps app, it doesn't take you to the trailhead. The trail begins at the "Congdon Park" sign facing the road where a picnic table is tucked in the trees. There is no parking lot and so we parked up the little hill on the nearest side street adjacent to the sign.

Easy to moderate hike in a city park. The are several paths to choose from and they lead down to the bridge below the falls. Great free activity! Beautiful waterfall.

This beautiful park features several cascading waterfalls tucked right into east Duluth near the Glensheen mansion. Beautiful red rock rhyolite canyon and a trail down by the creek with numerous waterfalls. Trailhead is at the corner of East Superior and East 32nd. Gorgeous quick hike down trail with steps and several bridges. May be closed in winter and icy.

Any time I am up in Duluth I try to go here. This park is on a slant so you have waterfalls and moving water. There are I believe two bridges in this area. You can stay on the main trail but you can also go the dirt trail that is about a foot in from this trail. This park of the walk way goes I believe about a little more than a mile. I have not explored the part that goes up to the lake. There are places that are quiet and you can meditate. In the winter time, the ice and snow make it very difficult to trek much of the dirt trails and even the steps.

Yes, we were on a trail that was paved and would be stroller friendly or handicapped accessible. Although some areas were steep as the entire trail is either uphill or downhill depending on where you start. There were some spots where you could go off the paved trail onto a walking trail to get closer to the rapids and there were benches there to sit and view the rapids. Those benches may not be as accessible. But there were plenty of great views from the walking trail.
