This park has been around for years but is truly a hidden gem in Bloomington. I have been here before and my husband went to this park many times growing up. It is shady and large, enough to accommodate a lot of people.
We visited on a Saturday in June. The small parking lot had only one spot left and we got it. We were there for a picnic on our way out of town. Our visit did not disappoint; we were able to have our picnic and wander around and look the improvements without disturbing the two big parties going in the two shelters.
One big party was a high school graduation. The other big party in the nearby shelter was some sort of birthday party. There are also two sets of playground equipment nearby that were being used. And, there were other people just walking through the park like we were. Fortunately the swinging “love seat” was available and I and my husband occupied it for awhile. It was nice having time just to sit in the park and people watch.
On our way back to the parking lot we admired the huge baseball-soccer area. I think you could probably use it for both with some adaptation.
It’s great that the City set aside this very valuable real estate for people to enjoy!

I'm originally from Bloomington. Whenever I come home, I play a round of disc golf at Moir Park. Simple little 9-hole disc golf course with mature trees and a couple holes with a long forested hill that can make a disc roll and roll a long way. The park also has nice kids playground equipment, baseball fields, a volleyball court, picnic tables, and a very nice shelter.

Over a few weeks we walked most of the nine mile creek from Hopkins to Bloomington. While some places were hard to find a way onto the walkways for the creek, Moir Park is a GREAT connection. We walked the first half south to 106th street and back. Gorgeous watery environment and relaxing dirt path. I have a bad knee, but was able to walk. About 2 miles round trip.
Later we went back at 106th and walked along the creek to the Minnesota river. Amazing. Cannot wait to see as fall colors change and during winter months. A jewel in cities. Last bit was 2 miles round trip.
