Worth the stop! We've visited many times with our children and by ourselves. Worth it every time. Great place to stop for a picnic out of your cooler. Uneven surface once you're off the parking area so keep a close eye on the kiddos.
Palisade Head, is 200ft high from the lake water level.
The car can go upto the top and then you get fantastic mesmerizing view.
Water till your vision can go. If time allows one can spend as long as possible.

The parking is really limited and there was a bit of a bottle neck...More
It is possibly to drive right up to the attraction. Some minor hiking from there if you want to experience the full view of the West. The sign at the bottom says large vehicles not allowed. I drive a Suburban with no problem.
