Lovely family outing

I took my girls 11 and 13. You have to pay $5 per adult and $1 per child for the use of the car park. Then there is a 15 minute walk down to the beach and then a 10 minute walk... read more

Although clearly unfit for the walk, I enjoyed my time with my family at Cathedral Caves. Bring insect repellent, suitable clothing for the weather, and sturdy shoes for the walk (hike if you're unfit!). You will almost certainly be required to remove footwear as the water is still relatively high at low tide, and may even need to get wet... More

I took my girls 11 and 13. You have to pay $5 per adult and $1 per child for the use of the car park. Then there is a 15 minute walk down to the beach and then a 10 minute walk along the beach. There were hundreds of sandflies so I would recommend repellent. The caves were smaller than... More

Getting to cathedral caves at low tide (which is the only time it's accessible) involved a lot of backtracking on our part - but it was worth the trouble & more! I would recommend arriving at the caves as soon as they open (which is usually an hour or so ahead of low tide) as the hike down is significant... More

We were a bit late to enjoy this to the full. There had been heavy rain and we had a number of options in the area. We tried the petrified forest on the beach first but it was raining so hard we couldn't enjoy it properly. Eventually we came here, but the lady in the ticket booth told us there... More

After reading some of these reviews regarding peoples disappointment with their visit to the Cathedral Caves I feel I must add my knowledge. The Caves are on the "Beach" by the Sea!!! The Sea is governed by the Weather and the Moon. If the sea is calm and there is a Full/New Moon then it is possible to get to... More

We have been to Cathedral Cave several times but our last visit was disappointing. Although the website states: "Expect to get wet as there is still pooling around the entrance" - it is not possible to even reach the entrance along the beach without getting wet feet from waves coming up the beach. We were given sound advice while paying... More

Make sure you know the tide times before going to the Cathedral Caves, as only open 1 hour either side of low tide. Also wear something appropriate for wading through the sea up to your knees with waves splashing higher at times. But well worth getting wet for to see this amazing cave at 199 metres in total passage length... More

Best thing is to look in the official site for the low tide times. They open the gate around 1.5 hour before (in the site they write to come half an hour before). You get wet up to the thigh. Nice adventure in total

This is an amazing experience. The caves are just awesome, but wait, you can only experience this if you're lucky or have plenty of time in your hand. Let me explain: the management system and customer care is the worst I've ever seen for this type of places. You don't know when they are open; don't trust the tides as... More

We stayed at the Whistling Frog and you really need to allow a good 30-45 mins to drive, park and walk down the lovely bush path so that you reach the beach and caves just before low tide. By the time we got there the tide was on it way in again! All credit to the parking attendant who did... More
