Based on a local's recommendation, we visited the former asylum and found it fascinating. The re-use of the space was well thought out. We wandered through the lower level, where the shops and restaurants are located. My husband and I walked through the entire 'building...More

Expensive shops, lots of little gathering places for chit chat and coffee. Handicapped entrances not well marked. Was not very comfortable here.

Thought we would go for a ride and check it out. The shops there were very different and most were very expensive. We walked through quickly and left. These older buildings were very creepy.

I love that this former psychiatric hospital found a new life other than a wrecking ball. It is great to see the thriving shops and full condos. I think it is a must see in Traverse City!

This was filled with little shops and restaurants. All of the workers/shop proprietors were very friendly and helpful to our party.

I don't think the tour organizer will see your post and make your reservation. I suggest you call and confirm.

I have written a request already for reservations for my daughter and me on Mother's Day to take the asylum tour. Did not know until recently we needed to do this in advance. We rarely get together, and this is something we would like to do. I am waiting for an answer to my query.

Hi bayliss - Unfortunately there are no tours being offered on Sunday. We did add a tour Monday at noon if that may work for your schedule.
