We both have motion sensitivity, but wanted to experience the waterway, so we took the 1 hour Black River cruise on the all-electric Limdy Lou. A beautiful wooden hand built recreation of a passenger water taxi from the early 1900s, built right on site. Captain Chuck was a great guide, friendly and informative.

This was a very nice way to spend the afternoon. While there are some sailing vessels that will take you out on a short cruise, we opted for the museum only. My family is from the East Coast and we spend a lot of time near the water and are surrounded by sea going vessels year round. What fun to... More

I and my teen visited the museum briefly while waiting to board an afternoon cruise aboard the tall ship Friends Good Will. The museum is interesting, but the ship ride was the best part. Having taken the tall ship ride in Chicago's harbor, this one is longer and comparatively a bargain. You cruise the coast, learn some history, get to... More

The small museum does a nice job of describing many of the boat and plane tragedies that have occurred on the great lakes. I found the historical information interesting and it was displayed well too. There were articles on display from some of the disasters and the human interest stories were quite moving. Following the museum tour we took the... More

Our family took the sunset sail on the old time ship. The crew did a great job and it was a very enjoyable time. The price was worth the time.

We ended up going on the "Pirate Chaser" cruise after seeing the Sunset Cruise taking off one night when the water was really choppy and deciding that it didn't look as fun. It was ok for the 6 year old in our group but I'm not sure it would be interesting for kids older than that. The pirating consists of... More

We enjoyed trips on both the Lindy Lou and Friend's Good Will this time around. The pirate chase was great fun for the whole family and included a good history of the ship with tour. The museum itself is very interesting and educational with friendly staff.

While I vacation just down the street, I hadn't stopped in at the museum in some time. What a pleasant surprise. Emily at the counter was friendly and helpful. Lots of nice things in the gift shop. Inside, the exhibition of wrecks on the Great Lakes was fascinating, as were the displays of the 1950s airplane crash off So Ha... More

We did the 1.5 hour afternoon cruise on the Friends Good Will boat, and it was a really cool experience. On this particular day our family of four was the only group signed up for it, so it was functionally like a private cruise, but the crew made it fun for all. It started with a brief history of the... More
