I visit this place every time I go to the UP. It has a very nice boardwalk along Lake Superior and it is close enough to the Soo Locks that freighters pass by regularly. The lighthouse itself is beautiful and if you are so inclined, you can go the top. If you like lighthouses you will enjoy your visit here.

Four of us spent the weekend here in 3 of the cute, sea themed rooms in the Crew Quarters. Loved the entire weekend. Went up into the lighthouse. The Museum is wonderful. It also includes things from the Edmund Fitzgerald.

This lighthouse is easy to access and it is very well maintained. We were there in the off season so it wasn't crowded. The grounds were very nice.

Wanted to stop here to purchase the map of all the ships that sank on The Great Lakes. They had it reasonably priced too. Framed and unframed in the gift shop. We make this a stop every visit to th Soo.

We came in the winter so the light station was closed but we walked all around and down to Lake Superior. It was beautiful with all the snow and scenery.

It is worth a visit, a nice lighthouse with nice staff/volunteers. With a lot of stairs to the top but with nice views. Nice pictures in different lights from inside but also from outside it.

This was a really neat experience visiting this lighthouse. It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop our family exploring! The shoreline is beautiful, and you can see Canada as well! You can go up to the top of the lighthouse, but beware there is a spiral staircase with a lot of steps! The museum is quite interesting as... More

This is a large lighthouse, compared to many of my lighthouse visits. Very easy to find, minimal walking, friendly staff (volunteers), and tours. Very photogenic scene. The stone wall makes this lighthouse scene very unique.

Driving to/from the Yooper's Whitefish Pt/Sault Ste Marie on Lakeshore Drive? Don't miss this FREE attraction! Beautiful, well-kept historic lighthouse that you can climb (72 steps), a small gift shop, a 'life-in-the-1950s lighthouse' display, and trails on catwalks that take you right down to the shore, AND the VIEW. Charge up those cameras and cell phones for great photo opp's!

Beautiful drive out from Brimley. Lots of parking and well staffed store/museum. The gentleman working was quite knowledgeable regarding local history as well as maritime history. You can climb up to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy spectacular views, all free. Also have a nice boardwalk along the beach with great views.
