Found this campground in 2016 and became an instant favorite! Grew up camping and now have three kids of our own. Great family campground with plenty for the kids to do. Water is awesome and the softest, sandy beach and extends into the water. The...More

This is the place to stay if you want to combine an "Up North" camping experience with partying heartily. I live in the area, and South Park has always been known for its party atmosphere. It has all the amenities, but sometimes, things get out...More

Beautiful park. Easy on and off the lake for ice fishing with snowmobiles, four wheelers or walking out onto the lake. Many things to do in the summer. Swimming, boating, camping, day visits, boat rental. Has a store to buy items and/or lunch.

Very quiet state park on Higgins Lake. Our site was nice and shady with a view of the lake. The lake is clear with a sandybottom but too cold in September for this Florida girl to swim in. We had a huge fire ring for...More

This is a beautiful S.P. The campground is top notch and the lake, ( Higgins Lk. ) is one of the most beautiful in the state of Michigan.

Is there spots to shore fish for kids?

Not really because the shoreline is so shallow.
Hi, I was wondering if the campground allowed Dogs. it seem like Dogs are not allowed at a lot of the Campgrounds, and they should be allowed to go on vacation with their families.

Yes...wasn't aware of the "dog friendly beach". They must be leashed of course.
