A nice little stop with a great up close river view. Grab a snack or hot cocoa or coffee from the snack counter/deli and have a seat to watch the boats go by. Or say hi to Bob the friendly seagull. There are a few...More

This was a fast stop as we were driving along the waterfront where we were pleased to hear broadcast descriptions of the ships that were passing in front of the center. Inside the center were a number of artistic and educational displays related to the...More

Vantage Point and the Maritime Center, one of my favorites! Informational, fantastic views, good coffee and bagels. It is clean, friendly and welcoming. The farmers market on Tuesdays and Saturdays is an extra bonus. Great spot to visit!

Great place to sit and watch the boats go by. There is a small maritime center with some interesting (but limited) exhibits, a variety of food available, I recommend the ice cream truck, and a decent walk along the waterfront. The parking is free, but...More

Whenever I am in Port Huron I spend time at Vantage Point. Upon arrival a very bumpy parking lot will welcome you. So enter slowly. If you go Tuesdays and Saturdays during certain times of the year you can take advantage of the Farmers Market....More

The museum itself doesn't have a lot on display, but it does have good information about the freighters passing by and the staff (and volunteers) are a wealth of maritime information in general. You can walk outside and enjoy riverside viewing, which really gives you...More

Maritime Center is a wall of glass to watch the freighters and the other boats along the St Clair River. There are people in the center to answer questions. They also sell children's and adult books. People in S.E. Michigan love the freighters. There are...More

This building is a great place to watch the boat traffic on the St. Clair River. It is completely free to visit with indoor and outdoor seating available. Boatnerd.com is based here. As a large freighter goes by a volunteer will read about the freighter,...More

The center is right on the river where freighters pass from one great lake to another. Some of the barges are called "salties" because they actually will travel through all the lakes and on out to the ocean. As each freighter passes, a narrator announces...More

Yup. Dogs allowed. We've taken ours a few times. They love it! You can let them swim too at the small beaches along the path.
