In addition to walking the beach (and collecting lovely rocks) there are trails in the dunes and trails in the woods. A truly great local place for a 2-4 mile walk, all year round.

How long is the beach i.e. is it good for walking a ways? Example Youngs State Park in Boyne City is not, very close to privately owned cottages.

Wear your water shoes. If you are not familiar with the area, you may not know the beach is very rocky.
