This continues to be my favorite state park anywhere! Beautiful setting on the tip of the amazing Leelanau Peninsula. Love the campground and the lighthouse! Also, nice hiking trails a couple miles south.

Lovely crisp white buildings with red tin roofs, that pop against the bright blue sky and lake. Lovely place to snap that family photo for Christmas cards.

This Park is nice but if I didn't already have a State Park sticker I wouldn't have paid to see it. The shoreline is pretty but VERY rocky. There are other hiking trails and one leads to the top of a dune with an overlook,...More

We drove through the campground, but didn't stay. It is not only in a woods, but there are weeds and scrubby bushes everywhere. The campsites look TINY. We saw very few of them that could handle anything larger than a tent. It made me feel...More

I presume you will be kayaking in Grand Traverse Bay which is across the busy M31 so my choice would be as close to the bridge as possible
