The staff here were really helpful at the gate, we wanted to visit the lighthouse and to have to pay to get into the park to see it. It was about 10$ for a Michigan park pass. The park was definitely off the beaten path...More

I gave 4 stars only because there are no showers for campers, having said that, the campground is much nicer than I expected after looking at it on google earth. You need the 'Parks' sticker on your Michigan tab or pay for a park pass...More

Small st park, some hiking trails. Lighthouse is the main attraction. Tours given for 4.00. Can walk to the beach but overgrowth keeps you from doing much.

Stopped in briefly on a drive up M-22. Didn't take the lighthouse tour, but it seemed quite interesting. The views of the lake from the park were wonderful. Easily worth a stop!

Visited the park outside the lighthouse after touring the lighthouse. Was very surprised they had a tether ball & horse shoes out for people to use without having to ask. It was very nice after a long day to have a little time to play...More

I presume you will be kayaking in Grand Traverse Bay which is across the busy M31 so my choice would be as close to the bridge as possible
