We really wanted to see some bears close up and Oswald's didn't disappoint! They have the juveniles, female and male pens. When we visited, they had 40 bears. From what we understand, once they build one more pen, they will be the largest Bear Ranch...More

I really, really wanted to love Oswald's. I had looked forward to our visit for SO LONG that it. I begged, pleaded, and insisted we drive 2 hours out of our way to visit on a recent trip to the UP. By the time we...More

My wife and I got the opportunity to visit and see a ton of bears! This really gives you the feel of walking up to bears in the woods. We got very close to many of them without even realizing they were right on top...More

It was fun to walk around and watch the bears. They have 40 bears total though I'd say we saw about 20 of them. One was in a tree!

It was pretty much what I expected. Something to do if you're a little bored. Pleasant walking around the ranch. For $20/Carload worth it. But wouldn't pay more.

We decided to detour to Oswald's after going to the Falls, and we were not disappointed, we enjoyed walking around and looking at the Bears and watching them play. You can see they have a lot of space to roam and that they were well...More

Not overly priced to have the chance to see bears up close in a wooded type setting. Seemed like they cared for the bears pretty well. Several large fenced enclosures to walk around.

My wife has been asking to go to Oswald's Bear Ranch for the past 10 years. Finally, I broke down and we went on the trip to the Upper Pennisula. It was one of our favorite stops. The bears are well cared for and it...More

While I wouldn't travel to the UP just to go to Oswald's, it was a fantastic place to stop on our way to Pictured Rocks. Buy a bag of apples for a few bucks and when you rustle the bag bears come running. I'm an...More

Hello - I do not believe so but they may change their policies in the last year. Also be aware it was sad to see the little cubs in smaller cages just so people could have pictures taken with them. Both the cubs and in... More

Yes, rain or shine. There is a roof over the cubs' area and of course the souvenir shop, but everything else is in the great outdoors.

The cubs are quite close to the store and parking lot. The males, young males, and females are in larger enclosures a bit farther away. And those bears may or may not be in the closest parts of their fenced spaces. The... More
