Nice place to cool down

It was ok but not as impressive as suggested by the literature . Very slippy in places so wouldn't recommend to very old or very young

Visited with a large family group. We all really enjoyed it.Lovely to walk round and not worry about the being told not to touch. Very reasonable entrance price. One of our party was pregnant and she had no issue walking round even in flip-flops

We were a group of 10 ranging from 7yrs-60yrs. It was a great experience everyone enjoyed it. The guide gave an excellent tour in English and answered any questions we had. It was lovely that the children (and big kids) were able to touch the limestone and the waterfalls. The wine tasting was great too.

I found this place looking for prehistorical caves to visit. It's a small place right beside Chateau de Villandry. I love geology and understanding how things were created. This turned out to be a really good place to visit before seeing the Loire castles as it used to the a lime stone quarry. I recommend to do so. Makes it... More

Extremely interesting guided tour led by an enthusiastic lady. I enjoyed the visit but very slippery or uneven grounds in some parts. Could be safer.

Took the tour and while not huge it's nice to go underground in the summer heat. This is a great outing near the Villandry castle and fun for kids. Granted it's not Lascaux...

Two caves and an interesting new skill (petrification) learned about. Slippery at points...don't wear flip flops (like I did)! Models a little 'off' but kids enjoyed. We got the tour in English as the only visitors...It is usually French with an English translation sheet.

Now I have visited a number of Caves in the US. All were reasonably easy to traverse without danger to the patrons with the walkways paved so as to be smooth enough for just about anyone to handle. However, these grottoes at this location in France did not have a paved walkway, the ground is uneven, with water flowing over... More

These caves have been used to quarry limestone from the middle ages - lots of the Chateauz in the are are made from rock form these caves! The caves are now used for petrification of objects. To my eye it all seemed to be messing about with a culturally significant site but hey, they had been doing if for hundreds... More

A one hour worthwhile tour. Do use good sturdy shoes with a good grip as the floor is very slippery. There are a couple of slopes which are very arduous and not recommended for the elderly. The guide was knowledgeable and the tour can be conducted in English providing there are enough English speakers. Within a French group you will... More
