The facility is very well stocked and written information on each wine in abundance. Staff were courteous, but that was all. At times we were ignored and struggled to get any service. Some commercial organizations say they put their customers at the heart of everything they do, Caves de TURCKHEIM made us feel very much on the periphery! Perhaps we did not look like important enough customers? We bought 6 bottles

Third visit to the Cave Vinicole de Turckheim. Fisrt visited in 1990 and their wines have been consistently good.

The Cave is a co-operative where must vignerons in the area take their grapes. Fantastic range of all Alsace wine varieties and a great range of quality for each wine too, ranging from affordable more basic wines to top quality.

large air conditioned tasting room, friendly knowledgeable staff who will advise and draw up a tasting plan to show the wines off to their best. We tasted some 20 differing wines, and there was no pressure to buy.

As a bonus they have a stork nest on the roof, and when we visited in early August there were storks in the nest

We have experienced a fair few degustations/tastings over the years in France and Spain and this one is right at the top of the list. Friendly, unpretentious, knowledgeable, relaxed and good at listening as well as talking. Fantastic.

As part of our walking tour we were directed to this cooperative where we could have some wine tasting. In other villages we also did some wine tasting. The very large number and great virieties of wines makes wine tasting a usefull activity to determine what wine would be yiur preference, before you buy anaything.

I have been shopping here for years- every time I am fortunate enough to go back to Alsace (I was born in Alsace but married an American girl and live in Wisconsin). It is always clean, the staff friendly and the selection great. I would encourage you to try the many choices in fruit spirits they have.
Hint: if it’s a fruit liquor and water clear, it will not be sweet and will be nose clearing potent but so good!

Of our four days in the Alsace region this was our best tasting experience. Relaxed atmosphere, plenty of choice, free and no hard sell.

Definitely worth a visit.

This was our first experience visiting the Alsace Wine Route. We decided to visit Cave de Turckheim as it was in a location outside of the villages that seem to attract most tourists. We had a pleasant wine tasting experience and although we are not wine connoisseurs, we found the wines to be excellent. As an added bonus, after leaving the Cave de Turkheim, the road north took us through beautiful vineyards that further added to the pleasure of our experience along the Alsace Wine Route.

Every year we stay a few days in the Elzas.
Also every year we visit this cave to buy a lot of bottles wine.
Especially the gewurztraminer reserve we love very much.
But of course we leave the cave with 8 boxes of wines, riesling, muscat, pinot blanc, cremant de elsace, pinot noir, gewurztraminer, pinot noir and another box of pinot gris.
We hope to visit the cave next year again.

Cave de Turckheim is well worth a visit searching for good Alsace wine, instead of randomly driving around by just following Wine route de Alsace.
