As we were heading to Ribeauville we passed via a village called St Marie aux Mines and we happily surprised by the amazing combination of flowers in nice balconies, clean roads and nice picturesque houses. The same applies for Ribeauville, a rather more attractive place for tourists due to its shops selling local wine Riesling and home made cookies, its lovely public buildings and the lovely houses built on the traditional way. For sure this was a factor that made us anticipate more in our visit to all these villages in the wine road of Alsace
