We wanted to taste a wine of Louis Sipp because of the recommendations on tripadvisor. So we went in and an old lady asked us, what we want. We just said, we would like to taste one kind of a wine and she started complaining about others just tasting and not buying anything. Hello? This is not our intention, but right away shouting at us is not the way to go.
Anyway - there are hundreds of other wine makes with better service!
Never again Louis Sipp wine!

Pieter from the Wine Tour Company JoliSoleil brought us here for a wine tasting and we were blown away! We were tasting the same grape from the same year but from a different parcel of land so that we can taste the difference that terroir makes. We did the same thing with different vintages and even tasted the same exact wine from grapes just picked weeks apart. Amazing!!!!! We learned so much!

Louis Sipp was not a winery I had heard of before, but when booking wine tasting in Ribeauville, this came up as highly recommended.
I cannot agree more. We got a very nice tour of the facilities and ended up with a very good winetasting with focus on the types of wines we liked.
The Grand Cru Riesling is one of the 5 best wines I have tasted. Also the Cremant is wonderful.
This was an amazing experience that I would love to do again.

Our interaction with Madame Sipp was incredibly awkward and unpleasant. The wine tasting felt more like detention; Madame Sipp the school teacher and us the bad students. The delicious taste of the wine was overwhelmed by her strange and condescending attitude.
There are many other wineries in Ribeauvillé. Visit them instead.

Waiting in queue to be attended at their store . No one comes. Surprised we waited a little bit more. Mistake .... Suddenly a old lady from the other side of the counter “ what’s your problem” ...... both me and my wife shocked. Response - we wanted to taste and buy some rose.
Old lady no you can’t taste it as you have ice cream in your hand in the most rude tone possible. We were almost on the verge of bursting out but our culture does not teach us to be rude to an elderly lady. We walked out just having one thing in mind was it the case of “ r “sm. Yes it was. As I said the wine must be good ( which we did not taste) but surely the people representing the store weren’t.

We arrived in Colmar with the intent to tour the Riesling Trail for a day. The Tourism Office were very helpful but all the day tours were fully booked. We were willing to pay $125 Euro per person (4 of us) for a VIP tour but we couldn't get a seat.
Public Transport to the rescue!! For $13 Euro return we boarded the local bus to Ribeauville and spent the day tasting wines from four Winemakers!! The bus left at 9.00am for the 50mins trip and returned at 5pm.
Louis Sipp is one on the oldest winemakers in the region and we were very lucky to have the winemakers wife (75 years young) guide us through the tasting process.
Make sure you get to the Village before 12pm as everything closes for the traditional 90mins French lunch.

We love the wines from the Alsace region but from those wines and based on 7 or 8 tastings we prefer the wines from Louis Sipp. From the surprising ‘2013 Auxerrois’ and the delicious ‘2012 Muscat’ until the lovely ‘2010 Pinot Gris Nature’S’. All wines below or just above 10€ a bottle. Many thanks to Etienne and Martine Sipp for the excellent wine tasting. We can highly recommend a visit to Louis Sipp!

There were very helpful staff who guided us through a tasting and helped us to chose a good wine selection. The wines were good quality and value too.

We've been visiting and buying several times and will be back for sure. When you take your time and are really interested in (buying) wine, this is a very good place to go. The owners are happy to explain and let you discover their very wide range of wines for all tastes and all budgets. There are even a couple of excellent reds. Most of the wines are bio and you feel that a lot of attention has gone into the whole process. There are different tasting options: in the small shop with vintage 70s decor, in a nice airy big room for groups and if you are very lucky, maybe a quick peek in the cellars.
The family of the owners have five very tastefully refurbished modern rooms available in the house next door, which are really perfect for a short or even long stay in the area.

We went on a wine tour that included Sipp. We had the wine makers Wife tell us about their wine And we got to see the cellar. We tasted about 5 wines including 2 really good rieslings.
If u like Rieslings go to Sipp. Try the wine. Get the story.
