Having studied and traveled in Nicaragua for 3 weeks, I learned a lot about this country's beloved and famous poet, Ruben Dario. So, I wanted to make sure I visited the museum and house where he briefly lived. It was well worth it to see his personal belongings, furniture, books, and numerous and very interesting photos documenting his incredible life.... More

Glad to be in this air conditioned house and see yet more art work. There were also some wonderful sculptures.

Our guide took us to his statue and then inside the building in the university where there is a significant display of the stories of his life including his death. It was a quick tour but it was obvious that he played an important role in literature in the nation’s history.

This museum provides a snapshot into the life of the most famous literary persona of Nicaragua, who also made a name for himself throughout Latin America (as you learn going through the museum). Unfortunately, if you don't have at least some Spanish knowledge, you might not get a ton out of the museum; however, it's by donation, so worth checking... More

Unique experience being in the home of Dario. His body lies entombed in the Cathedral in Leon, overseen by a lion. This house is where he allegedly wrote his first poem. See his bed. It happens that it was also the confinement place of another of Nicaragua's greats, Alfonso Cortes, said to be more profound than Dario. He had mental... More

A collection of artifacts connected to one of Nicaragua's most revered national heroes. Probably not that interesting for most western museum-goers. Nothing written in english, tour guides speak only spanish.

For lovers of Latin American literature, this is a must see. For everyone else, it is of mild interest. Very little of the explanations are in English, so you will need some Spanish to fully appreciate. Worth a stop but just not too much time.

It is a big corner ancient house from 1800, with roof tile ceiling and a central beautiful corridor, like Antique houses were built long time ago. In this house, Ruben Dario spent his childhood and adolescence, as this was his grandparents home. You can appreciate so many details in decoration and furniture from that era like beds, desks, tables, wardroves,... More

Great museum depicts some of the writings of Ruben Dario. His early life in the house and some of of the items he used during his life there are also for display. Great information.

The life of this famous poet is presented in a good way in his childhood home in León. There are very informed guides there, so if you are interested in a deper knowledge about his authorship, they are very helpful.
