I can recommend Sonati hostel to everyone! Claudia, the manager, was extremely nice and took good care of us. We were given tips on our onward journey, places to visit in the city, they also helped us catch the taxi when leaving. We arrived from El Tunco late at night (around 1am) and the hostel members were waiting for us to let us check in which was extremely nice. The hostel is very clean, beds are comfortable and the space is beautiful with a swimming pool to cool down. The atmosphere at the hostel is very relaxed and everyone is chatty. You can also use the kitchen to prepare your meals. We loved staying at Sonati and think that they do amazing job as a charity. Thanks Luis for the volcano tour!

We (2 female backpackers) did the tour together with the guide Carlos and were totally thrilled! We had a lot of fun with Carlos and the boarding itself was fun too! Even if you were a little bit scared, you were told well how to get there safely down there. We can only recommend Sonati tours !!

We had a great stay here in Sonati. The hostel is clean and tidy with very helpful and friendly staff. There is a great pool to cool off in during the day. The wifi is great and the kitchen is well equipped. They even have a laundry service. Would stay here again.

I came across sonati online as I was trying to find a tour organization that gives their profits to a good cause. there's one other operating company around but I just came into their hostel first. Luis the volunteer and guide was very nice and I ended up being the only one who booked the tour. They've had some troubles after the political issues last year and are trying to get it going again. that way I had plenty of time to practice my Spanish and the guide was very chatty. extra: you get a shirt.

I walked in this morning into the Sonati Leom. I am traveling alone and wanted to book the famous volcano boarding. It was an easy and fast process and they offer to pick me up at my hotel at 2 pm. Enrique and Francisco showed up with another guest. Enrique explained briefly the logistic. The way to Cerro Negro is an experience on its own. Despite the difficult situation right now in Nicaragua, their inhabitants in Leon are warm and caring. We had to skip cows, pigs, chickens.... Lol.... It was fun... We saw their beautiful national bird and Francisco stop the ride to get us some fresh marañones.... Very nice of him.... We had to make another quick stop to allow a local rural car pushed by cows to finish their job...Then we register at the national reserve office and the fun began... 1 hr hike... We saw the crater of the youngest volcano and the most active in Nicaragua: Cerro Negro.... Wow.... The volcano boarding, going down an ACTIVE volcano about 20-30 kma an hour was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C.... Wanted to do it again.... Enrique and Francisco simply adorable and full of energy.... Super duper recommended.... Best wishes for our brothers in Nicaragua....
