This is one of my favorite all time museums. The simplicity really makes you feel like you are one with the art work. Keep an eye out for their exhibit openings they are a don't miss even in Leon.

You can learn a lot about Nicaraguan art and history, Central American artists in general, history of the home that is now the museum and there are Chagall, Miro and Dali rooms that will please any one who loves fine art. Try and go in the morning as it can be quite warm and there is no A/C in the... More

I love the gallery, it's great for a little escape and to truly live in the moment. The gallery mainly consists of two exhibitions. One building with more abstract, symbolic pieces and one with historical artwork. I would recommend setting aside two days for the visit, not full days, but days to process. I personally enjoyed the first exhibition a... More

Nice environment, I got actually surprised. Definitely worthy to visit if you stay for long term. I just missed some new younger Nicas paintings.

The collection of abstract works by Central American painters is very original and interesting.Lots of paintings by Chagall and quite a few by Dali. The paintings are indirectly exposed to the open air via roofless courtyards just outside the corridors, but it doesn't seem to do any harm. The courtyards are essentially garden patios- cool and airy and peaceful.Well worth the $3... I'm not an artsy fart, and couldn't tell a michaelango from a monnet, but its nice to walk around. The museum is set in two well restored colonial buildings, close to the central square. I enjoyed the courtyards, that housed turtles, and also i admit, i liked their collection of Salvador Dali prints on Alice in Wonderland. Good way to... More

The museum is divided in two. One side features private exhibits of Nicaraguan and Latin American modern art. Even for the casual fan of art, there is some great stuff here. At the very least the space, an old traditional Leon house, is beautiful to admire. On the other side of the street is the permanent collection which, for me,... More

This a surprisingly modern and diverse art gallery in the heart of León, that is well worth a visit! It is in a beautiful colonial house, with several small gardens that also is worth a study. I really enjoyed it.

In two nice buildings opposite eachother you find in a lot of rooms American ( middle and south) paintings and sculptures. In some rooms also very and also modern European paintings ( Rubens, Picasso, Chagall etc) a nice few hours if it rains.

A nice museum of art (99 % paintings). I think it is the only museum as such in León. Nice contemporary paintings. There are also some classic paintings, but I did not find them interesting.
