Interesting but not a must see attraction!

It is also known as the "Seat of Might and Power." Ulug Bek built it as a mausoleum for his favorite son who was killed at age 22 in a fall from a horse.

Here you can visit the simple crypt in which Tamerlane wished to be burried. Instead his jade tomb is in a magnificent family mausoleum in Samarkand. Also the restored mausoleum of Jehangir, Tamerlan's son, is well worh visiting.

Located next to the Dor-At-Tilyavat mosque the necropolis was going to be the burial site for all the Timur family. Dor Us-Siyodat means "House of Power". Emir Timur is, in fact, interred in a sumptous mausoleum in Samarkand and only his eldest son and another family member are buried there. Reaching the necropolis is a hazardous affair. To reach it... If you are here or going to or from Samarakand to Bukhara you can pay a visit.Old place as most of the places this is also partly rebuild. As this is part of history must visit.

We arrived at this mosque and tomb complex just after Friday prayers as a stream of men, including some old men in traditional dress, left. Dor us-Saodat Complex aroused after the death of the eldest son of Amir Temur – Djakhangir (1376), whose mausoleum has dome ceiling in the shape of a cone.
