I went to Hwaseong Temporary Palace last summer. Hwaseong Temporary Palace is a representative cultural property of Suwon. There is a walking path along the capital city that allows you to appreciate magnificent scenery, which was my most impressive memory. There was a large square in front of Sinpungru, where many people were flying kites. There were many fmailies and they looked happy. There is Haengridan-gil near capital city, which is a hot place in Suwon recently. and I went to a cafe on Haengridan-gil. There were many pretty cafes. Also, it opened at night, But unfortunately, I couldn’t experience it. I want to experience that next time.

Rather disappointing, perhaps because it was so cold and muddy creating rather depressing ambience. Not a lot to see though other than bunch of rather alike buildings.

This was the residence of the Joseon king when in Hwaseong. The Haenggung, or temporary palace, is a recently restored landmark that offers a glimpse into the life of royal family. The structure itself is relatively simple but wandering around the maze-like complex is of great fun. Admission is very modest.

I you are visiting suwon Hwaseong Haenggung Palace is a must visit attraction . I visited the palace in the evening so it was decorated with gorgeous lighting and tradition Korean music was playing in the background which absolutely complemented the with the stunning views of the Palace. Inside the palace you can still find the goods and tings which have been used in the Joseon dynasty.

If you come and visit the Hwaseong Palace, please enter in the evening to explore the day and night of the heritage city.
I visited the Hwaseong Palace in Suwon at night again. It turns out that watching the moon in the ancient city is not an exclusive activity during the mid-autumn festival. The full moon has become a permanent lighting fixture, and there are light shows at the main square throughout the night. You may even see the night view of the entire palace when you climb up to the mid-level.

We visited the palace during the evening hours and it was probably the best decision ever! There is a light show with Korean traditional music playing in the background, various lanterns, and beautiful views during the sunset and night hours together!
I love how relaxing and beautiful this place is!

Thanks to the beautiful buildings and trees here, I could feel relaxed away from the busy life of modern times. I could enjoy many events held here. Also, it was meaningful to learn the history related to this place. If you have time, I think you should visit once.

It's a cute little palace with lots of open space. Its a good place to take the kids. If you are not with a tour guide, it is best to research about it since there are no signs with informatino or anything. If you are in the area, it is a nice place to take a walk.

Do we need tickets in advance for the Hwaseong Cultural Festival. Where can I get a schedule of events for the 2015 Festival?

No, you don't need any tickets in advance for the cultural festival. You just need to make sure that you arrive on time to grab a good viewing spot.
This takes place from 7th-11th October. Tripadvisor does not allows to post links, so just google about the event and you'll find the schedule.
In case, you are travelling in October, there is this Seoul fireworks festival that is being held annually on 3rd October and is an absolute spectacle. You can also google about this.
