Captain Hook is just a really nice guy! He explained a lot and is was a nice walk through his village. The coffee and the sandwiches they serve are delicious! Definetly recommended when youre doing the pakse loop!

For me this has been so far my best experience in North Laos! The full view of the waterfall for now can only be viewed using the 'Fly Tadfane Zip Line! When we got here we couldn't see the loop. But the Zip Line is $40 per person but the experience is worth it and more!
There are 4 zip line sections before you get back and there are some steps towards the last two zip lines, get ready it is steep and no walking sticks nor barriers to hold on to! Also there is a part where you have a wooden ladder get ready for those as well.
Precautions
- Take some gloves for the zip line.
- Wear comfortable hiking shoes or trainers.
- Wear comfortable clothese may be not too open.
- Most of the staff here are not so fluent in English but they are very experienced and you will feel safe.
- First timers pay $40 but if you want to do it again its half price.
- If you fear heights and not fit, please don't do this.
But I highly recommend this especially for the whole experience of seeing the waterfall!

Thanks to my host in Paksé (nkm mekonghomestay) we had a great 3 days trip around the plateau. The nkm precise map help us to go on trails where no body seems to go. Many waterfalls with no tourist nor entrance fee and great road trip. Vat Pa huge trees are impressive and unvisited small villages showed us the real life of some ethnic groups. Get the Southern Laos Adventure Map and enjoy deeper the area.

With beautiful waterfalls, coffee and tea plantations, and a sort of other sightseeing it is totally worth it. If you are on a motorcycle, you can do either the big loop (3 days) or small loop (one day and your hotel/hostel can arrange it for you).

I just visit the waterfalls and plantations as it was low season and not everyday they fill up the minimum capacity (5 people) to do the tour. But during high season they told me it’s an everyday activity. As I was buy myself I arranged a tuk tuk for 200000 kip to take me to the three waterfalls (entry tickets not included). So if you are visiting now, you can still manage it

As of June 2019 I've done 4 trips on to the BOLAVEN PLATEAU, including a side trip to SALAVAN, and I still haven't seen it all. The majority of people going up there are doing the LOOP TRIP. However there is actually 2 loops; the SMALL LOOP and the BIG LOOP. Most loopers end up doing the small loop, mainly because they are squeezed for time (2 - 3 days) and this is a shame because the BIG LOOP is just so much better than the small loop. The majority of people going on the loop tour will go in a counter clock-wise direction. This is the standard direction for the start of both loop trips. The first night is normally spent at TAD LO and after this those on the small loop ride on to THATHENG and then straight on to PAKSONG, which is at the top of the Bolaven Plateau. Those with more time and more of an adventurous streak will take a left turn at Thatheng and ride around the eastern side of of the Plateau. This is a truly impressive landscape which should not be missed. After the town of SEKONG you will turn right at the small village of Ban Beng Pho Kham and ride up through the remote and ruggedly spectacular, far side of the plateau. If you're doing the BIG LOOP, you're next destination after TAD LO should be TAYICSEUA. This is the single best place on the BOLAVEN PLATEAU and should not be missed. The guesthouse people at Tayicseua have set up a hiking trail through the jungle which takes in 6 waterfalls. It is an amazing place to go to as you will be out in a wild, remote area of Laos.

Sadly I just had half day to explore the plateau a bit! But it’s super easy to get there from Pakse. Just take a motorbike and drive around 30min to see Tad etu, fane and yuang. They’re all next to each other. Try the zipline at tad fane 😆

The best experience we have had in Lao, the family is so friendly and the homestay is on a beautiful location with mountain view and a fantastic sunset. You get to eat with the family and the food is local, organic and really tasty.
Anyone should try to stay at Mr Hook

Had a wonderful morning exercise with more than 200 steps down from the resort to this beautiful waterfalls. It was great to be there. Unfortunately there was a rain the night before so the water was not clear and not really for swim.

There are few different areas for kids, young people and for parents to enjoy the swimming here. I will like to revisit again and hopefully no rain next time.

We booked a day tour by our hotel La Folie Lodge and our guide was Mr. Mee. We went early and visited 5 waterfalls, a coffee plantation and had lunch at a local restaurant. It's a long day with lots of driving but worth every penny if you don't have your own transportation - the Bolaven Plateau is a big area... The waterfalls are really nice to see.
