A person is to be blessed with artistic talents, wealth, pleasure and fine arts, such as music and dance. Those with Shukra strong in their charts are likely to appreciate nature and enjoy harmonious relationship. This is the temple for performing “Kalathira Dosha Pariharam” for Lord Sukiran. Lord Shiva named as Agneeswarar is the presiding deity and Goddess parvathi is named as Karpagambal. Lord Agni one of the “Ashtadhik Balakars” is believed to have worshipped Lord Shiva here and hence the name Agneeswarar. Guru is always seen with a demon being crushed under his feet. The demon signifies ignorance. It means that guru leads us from ignorance to the knowledge. Agniswara Swami Temple at Kanjanur is associated with Lord Sukran (Planet Venus). As per the Sthala Purana, Lord Brahma was blessed with a vision of Shiva’s marriage with Parvathy here. The Brahma Lingam enshrined in this Temple is said to have been worshipped by the Lord Brahma himself. It is to note that there is no separate shrine for Lord Sukra since Lord Shiva himself is believed to have incarnated as Venus here.

This temple is an old temple and small. We had reached there during the siesta time and had to wait. Also, the flooring was hot and we had difficulty. The temple was beautiful and it compensated for the difficulty faced.
I would recommend visiting the temple for everyone.

Nice and very small temple. Located in village area. Getting to this temple is not easy. Visiting this temple during Fridays are even better, but yes there would be large crowd compare to normal days. Things here are still very laid back, but yet can be very close to one's heart.

Agneeswarar Temple at Kanjanoor is dedicated to Lord Sukran (Venus planet). Lord Shiva and Parvati in Kanjanur are worshipped as Agneeswarar and Karpagavalli Amman. The main deity, Agneeswarar in the form of lingam depicts Lord Sukra. The Idol of Natarajar is also very beautiful. In addition we visited shrines of Subramanya swamy on peacock,Mahalakshmi, Anjaneyar, Navagrahas and Bhairavar inside temple corridor.
Photography inside the temple is not permitted.

This is the Navagraha temple for Venus. Considered auspicious to visit on Friday. This is one of the 9 temples that fall under 'Navagraha Koil'. Ensure that the driver is aware of all the routes as all these temples are in villages. We had a great driver who took us to all these temples.
