Was at Chippewa Nature Center today with my grandson. Great place to go and learn about nature. It has a river overlook, taxidermied animals local to the area, hands on experiences for youngsters, animal furs, animal skulls, feathers, floor puzzles examples of animal tracks, examples of animal poo - what kid doesn't like poo. A great place to visit and a... More

Taking family photos, nature hikes, picnics, or exploring in the river. This is a great place to take the family for a fun day outside. There are plenty of interesting things to see as well as some 100 year old buildings, some tremendously long trails, and some fun farm animals. Take the kids, pack a picnic, and enjoy a day... More

Visited at night as they had an event at the homestead cabin tonight. What December fun. Nice warm fire outside, and warm wood stove inside. The kids got to make a wooden Christmas decoration and I got to check out what was cooking on the wood stove in the kitchen. Very nice evening.

Great place to take in nature by yourself or with the kiddos. You can hick through densely wooded area to a number of attractions in including a cute farmstead with some live animals. This is a great place to take pictures of nature, or have family pictures taken. Broad array of scenery available.

Our community is so lucky to have this outdoor space! Nature, in all it's GLORY! Walkways are clean and easy to walk or bike and the scenery is beautiful.

We love just walking around here. the visitor center is fun for kids and adults alike and you can watch all sorts of birds and animals at their feeders. It is also a great place to but in a tube or Kayak and head down to the tridge in Midland. The water rages from 6 inches to a few feet... More

There are many interesting classes, nature walks, outings for watching birds and bugs and other creatures as well as flowers. They have some day and overnight trips. They sponsor canoe and kayaking trips for a very reasonable cost and then you get a guide to go with you. They have their own set of canoes, kayaks, snowshoes. They have special... More

Chippewa Nature Center is the type of place that you could easily visit every week and always find something new. Paths are clearly marked, mostly unpaved, and good for beginner walkers/hikers. I especially enjoy the variety of trails. Some follow the river, some are in the woods, some are out in the open. If you have several hours and lots... More

Took my 8 and 4 year old. Wore their little legs out on the well groomed trails. We had fun spotting turtles and frogs near peepers pond. We spent as much time inside the nature center as we did on the trails. What a great place. Be sure to save time to spend at the bird watching window inside the... More
