In each house we had a leisurely tour with a highly knowledgeable guide. Each guide was well informed about the house's architectural history. The houses offered stunning views of the landscaped yards through scores of large windows. Some of the house interiors featured stunning woods....More

We walked through the gardens before taking the home and studio tour, and it provided the best overall view of the compound from across the pond. You also get to see the outside of Alden's parents house. The gardens are not connected to the home...More

Very informative and we loved the whole trip. Only tiny complaint is that our group was larger than we would have preferred - maybe 15 people or so. Took too guides to keep everyone in "order". Well worth the 3 hour drive to come to...More

The history of the Dow family, Midland and Alden Dow's architecture are fascinating. The facility is well preserved and the guide was knowledgeable. More than we expected, so pleased we went.

The house is in great condition, the house was like the family is still there. The docent was friendly and informative. Although, my only complaint is they do NOT allow ANY indoor photography, only outdoor. Yet, you can not walk around the property.
