If it's your first time to Marquette, MI, the first place to see is Presque Isle! You can either walk or drive the 2k loop. There are many interior hiking trails. Jutting out into Lake Superior, "the island", as locals call it is a great place to watch the waves, sometimes in the fall you will see some fool hardy... More

This is a lovely park with great views. Driving through at sunset was beautiful and relaxing. It's a very nice, well kept up area with times set up for walkers, people on bikes, and cars to use the island. Very nice.

Take a slow drive around Presque Isle Park. Make sure to pull off the road, get out and walk so you can look over the edge into Superior. The water is crystal clear and mesmerizing!! Also, be sure the get out of the car and walk to black rock cove. If your more adventurous, be sure to walk out on... More

Loved Presque when I attended NMU-my very favorite spot to go in the whole city. So special to bring my family there to experience the beauty and power of Lake Superior. Driving through in the summer the woods are truly ethereal. Beautiful cliffs, tucked away coves, and views worthy of all the pictures you can take. Love this place 💗

Of course the Lake Superior coast is full of great views but Presque Isle park is especially beautiful. In the winter you can walk down the road closed to cars to the Black Rocks about 1 mile each way or walk out onto the ice in the small inlet and see the oredocks. Gorgeous all the time.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely cc ski in the park. Great views from several locations. When we arrived in early March, some of the trail was gone...no snow due to rain and warm temps. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful ski thru the park.

I grew up here and only found out a few years ago ( in Mpls Star Tribune) that this wonderful treasure of a place was designed by Olmstead, the man who created Central Park in NYC. I do think that information was buried for a while in some historical archive! At any rate it was an adventure to ride our... More

One of the nicest city parks you will ever visit -- not much more need be said. A camera is a must -- and take care near the edges of the cliffs along the lake (some areas are unstable).
