I live in Marine City. It was posted this is not a nature getaway. If you never walked much further then, where you parked your camper. Maybe that would make you think that to be true. Although the park sits along side the beautiful St. Saint Clair River and that is a pretty natural setting. There is almost fifth teen... More

Sites are very closely packed and there are very few trees. Not much space or privacy between you and your neighbor. It's basically like camping on a front lawn in the suburbs. There's a nice little path that leads you to the St. Clair river where you can watch the freighters pass. It's usually pretty crowded, not exactly quite or... More

Quiet camping on the St Clair River, with views of freighters both day and night. The stars that can be seen are more numerous than imaginable.

Our family just spent the past weekend at this great state park. Lots to do for all the family or great for just doing nothing. Algonac is only a mile down the road which is convenient. Swimming in St. Clare River was lots of fun. The trails for hiking are nice. We enjoyed the wagon wheel campground because if you're... More

We attended a rally of owners of small fiberglass trailers at this park this weekend. Very nicely kept Campground, designed for big rigs. Minimal privacy but spectacular Vistas across the St Clair river to Canada and of the Great Lakes ships going by. The park is right on the riverbank. We enjoyed our stay - hopefully the washroom will be... More

Everyone can see the wonderful views of the St Clair River from the front camping and day use areas. However, Algonac State Park has a hidden gem in it's marsh meandering paved trail. This hike winds through the natural ecosystems of the freshwater marsh that still exists behind the river Ridge. Very quiet, few visitors.

We stayed in our popup, park is very well maintained, restrooms are modern and clean, loved watching the ships sail past. Will go again in fall to do the bike trail that runs along the park. There is a small park/beach area across the street that was just beautiful with sandy bottom and clean blue water! We went out with... More

We were very impressed with this state park. It is located right along the St. Clair River which offers a great view for watching the freighters and pleasure craft making their way up and down river. The grounds are very well cared for and very clean. There are great fire pit rings at every camp sight. Very nice walking and... More

Front row seat to view freighters on The St. Clair River. If you like "field camping" with lots of neighbors, bikes and kids, then the main camp site is for you. If you like quiet and woods, go to the Wagonwheel campsites. Bike trails are awesome. Unfortunately there were no nature programs on the weekends which was disappointing.

Great state park to stay a night or longer. Awesome views of the St. Clair River and see the freighters go by. The bathrooms/showers are nice and clean. Enjoyed the trap shooting and archery range as well. Beware...a lot of lots do not have trees in case you need some shade..
