From the Bridge forward you will find a charming, wonderful place. Be sure to bring VERY GOOD Walking shoes and layer your clothing. It can be windy and a LONG walk unless you have money for a Carriage ride or to rent a Bicycle. The Mackinaw Island Fudge was TOO SWEET for me. GIfts are pricey, but the pictures and... More

We go up to Mackinaw city several times a year. We always play the game if you shout out as soon as you see the bridge on our way up. I have been going up from when I was young. We now take our son.

When it comes down to it, my wife and I haven't traversed many of the world's great bridges. The list includes the Golden Gate and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in San Francisco and the Sunshine Skyway in St. Petersburg, Florida. And the Mackinac Bridge across the Straits of Mackinac in Michigan. Built in 1957, Mighty Mac or Big Mac... More

If you go to Mackinac, you've got to drive across the bridge just to say you did. Beautiful and so interesting!

You won't be sorry if you make it to see the Mackinac Bridge. This is truly an amazing wonder of Michigan. We crossed the bridge multiple times during our stay and were in awe each time. The view of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron from the bridge were incredible.

We traversed the bridge four times during our visit. The view of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan from the bridge is spectacular.

After viewing the bridge from the park nearby, we took the drive and were impressed with the views and with the bridge structure itself. We purposely stayed on the north side of the bridge in St. Ignace so we could take the ferry from there to the island. Good decision!

The Mackinac Bridge spans the Straits of Mackinac which connect Lakes Huron and Michigan. It is a magnificent structure, some five miles in length between approaches at either end, on in the Upper Peninsula; the other in the Lower. It is a toll bridge; fee for an auto is $4. Heading north, you can see the lofty towers supporting the... More

Love driving across the Big Mac...although better to be a passenger so you can look out on the breathtaking views. If you are fearful of driving across it the Bridge Authority has people that will drive you. Don't think any other bridge will do that...

Truly an amazing site to see. We try to make it up there at least twice a year. I love bringing people who have never been here and to see their faces as we drive over it.
