Mackinaw island

Beautiful place. Everyone should put this on their itinerary. Also go to Surrey Hill. We did a lot of walking from place to place. We didn't have to rush.

We come to Mackinac island annually and last year came for Mother's Day. It was cold so we didn't have too much to do. We have heard of this place and with low expectations decided to try it out. To our surprise it was amazing. So many butterflies and they interact with you! Love it! This is now an annual... More

This place is so cool. You get to walk in and be with the butterflies up close. Many of them even landed on us. Such a one of kind experience!

We saw thousands of butterflies inside the conservatory! A couple of them even landed on us. Great photo opportunities. Dress coolly, as it's hot and humid inside.

We have been here a few times over the years. You can enter as many times as you want once you buy your entry ticket. It was a nice addition to see the bug/reptile display. The butterflies are more active on sunny days, but we saw quite a few become more active in the hour we spent looking for them!

Great little place full of beautiful flowers and amazing variety of butterflies.. Some of them so colorful, my personal favorite were the blue ones. Gotta be quick to catch one of those guys for a picture. And if you have a DSLR make sure that you bring a lens cloth with you cause the house is humid, it was cold... More

Walking through the butterfly house is unlike an experience I've ever had. So many various butterflies fluttering around, some landed on myself and made the experience even better. Great time!

Great little place! I got to see MANY different types of butterflies I would not have been able to see anywhere else. It was nice because if you were staying on the island, you got a wristband that would let you come back (for free) on different days! I did see many children in there, but I would honestly not... My wife loves butterflies and all things involving. It is a great place to see so many pretty ones and interact with them. The metamorphosis area is interesting and the little gift shop is nice too.
