The course was absolutely beautiful. It's a very short course that plays narrow, but it was quite challenging with beautiful views of the hotel. The service on the course is no different than what you'd receive in the hotel, top notch. Will definitely stay and play here again.

A trip to Mackinac Island wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Jewel at the Grand Hotel. The $10 per person charge is worth the money; additionally, the amount can be deducted against the cost of the Luncheon Buffet. The hotel does not allow tipping so keep that in mind; the $37 lunch was outstanding and well worth it.... More

this was a bucket list place for me and I finally got to see it. We strolled around the veranda from one end to the other several times. We sat on a rocker and had a soda. Not bad $7.50 for 2. The hotel does not allow tipping so keep that in mind. Go down stairs to see the pictures... More

What can you say about this 125 year old "Grand" Hotel!? Elegant, stately and beautiful can only be captured by its grandeur as you stroll down its giant veranda as thousands have done before you. Take a tux and her gown for an extravagant dinner then walk off dinner around the grounds. It stays light until 10 here so enjoy... More

I worked at the Jewel for two summers(93 & 94). They were just finishing the back nine when I was there in 93. When I came back to work in 94 it was open for play and we played the back nine a few times.. It was/is a majestic course with many serene holes. I am going back this weekend... More

What an amazing Golf course, the course is very well maintained, the views spectacular. It was a beautiful weather and a great day for golf. ALL the staff we encountered we very friendly and went the extra mile to make sure all your need were met. After golfing the first nine holes we were then transported by horse and carriage... More

We golfed the front nine on two different days during our stay. As guests at the hotel, our clubs were kept at the club house for our convenience. The course was not crowded in September, so we were able to play as a two some. The course is older and may not provide as much challenge as some of the... More

After seeing this movie, I knew I had to see the Grand Hotel and it does not disappoint. If you are not staying here there is a ten dollar fee to enter the hotel but it is well worth it. Be sure to relax on the beautiful covered porch and enjoy the view of the strait.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel and while I was exploring the hotel my husband golfed at the Jewel. He loved the golf course. It really made his day when we checked in and our room overlooked the Jewel. He was so happy. After the first nine holes a horse taxi takes you to the next nine holes. It was... More

We were a little apprehensive about taking our clubs to Mackinac, it seemed like a hassle. We didn't stay at the Grand, so this seemed like it would be troublesome. It wasn't! Clubs were easily transported by the hotel porters from the ferry and then by taxi to the Jewel for golf. We played 18 holes and you have to... More
