Superb ratings drew us here on way up to Boones in Traverse and staying in Gaylord now and played today Saturday 7/18/20. This was one of the most unique courses I've ever played with the natural sand bunkers/ waste areas. Coupled with some bog/ marshy carries and not ever playing the course made for a challenge but fair round. At least 5 or maybe even 6 sets of tees for any caliber golfer. Course was watered well for the hot summer and greens held well.
Wife loved the senior women's tees and was giddy after a bogey on the #1 handicap 12th hole which was a beast. We went out at noon on a Saturday and had just a single play through on the 13th and never caught any foursomes. A most enjoyable round with high humidity and heat but thank God s nice breeze. Must be awesome in the fall. All tree lined holes and the natural sand waste areas are the courses' forte. Don't usually spend $50 a round but this was a treat. Not too much elevation change( played all the Treetops courses 2 was ago)

Thanks Ray Hearn and Hemlock!!

I played the Hemlock Golf Club this fall and boy was I impressed. The course was in tremendous shape, the staff was great and the golf well it was one of the most challenging and fun rounds I have ever played. The price I thought was a steal. I have played a lot of courses out that way including Arcadia bluffs which is in the over hundred dollar range. I learned that I can pay about half that, on a course that in my opinion offers a lot more.

Just North of Ludington. Modest pro shop, but with essentials. Nice driving range. Staff is always friendly. Course has unique layout through trees and all bunkers are waste bunkers and few holes have a big ones. Multiple tees for all skill levels. Always in good shape. Price reasonable. End of year (Oct) they run promo’s where buy something (certain price range) from pro shop and golf for free.

I had heard good things about the course and met some friends for 9. The clubhouse was like a modular home. It was clean and decent on the inside with a deck overlooking the course. All of the staff was very nice. The course was in excellent condition. Fairways were well maintained as were the greens and bunkers. The course winds back and forth through mature trees. Many of the holes have sand traps or waste bunkers. Beautiful! In all, it is a great course at a reasonable price. I will go back.

nice course, greens are good as the rest, however trash can's are far and few between, as well as port a potty s, and when I was there again this year there was no cart girl, but there was a range guy out, which i found unnessary for a week day, I found that they spend more time cleaning carts than other things that could be done.
I know it's showing a 3 star, however it should be a 2 1/2 who ever is running the golf club needs to get to work...

My friend and I golfed 18 holes at Hemlocks last Thursday, May 2013. This was our third time golfing there. It is one of our favorite courses because each hole feels like it is all alone. The holes are well separated by trees. Carts are a must. The holes are challenging and visually appealing. The course is in fantastic condition with the fairway turf super short and manicured perfectly. The greens are "spongy" which makes them a treat to play on. We signed up for our free birthday golf which is a deal!

Beautiful natural woods layout with plenty of risk-reward shots. Friendly staff. Dense woods separate the holes making you feel you are the only group on the course. Multiple tee boxes and bailout landing areas make it fun for all handicaps. Inexpensive drinks and food and lots of specials help the budget. A great way to spend the day!

Without a doubt this is one Michigan course you cant afford to miss. Highly reccomended for beginers to advanced players, Hemlock will challenge you and leave you breahless with its natural surroundings and pristine environment. True, it is one of the pricier courses in the area, but you won't find a better course in Mason county. If you find yourself in the Ludington area, a day spent at Hemlock will be one of the highlights of your trip. Truly a hidden gem of the area.

We planned to play this course all day, and take what we could get. We played it twice in six and half hours, and we wanted more! What a great place to golf!
