The City of Ludington has created one of the best, relaxing, interesting water-front green spaces I have seen. In addition to well-maintained sidewalks and multiple benches, there is a sculpture trail that perfectly reflects the character of the area. Have a seat and watch the boats and if you have kids, there is a large playground. There is also a building housing clean public rest rooms. As you stroll the area, you can't help wonder how much it might cost to live in one of those condos.

We decided to bring our kids here to check it out on a cloudy day over the weekend. We were disappointed because most of the play structures were covered in spider webs and spiders! We were there early in the morning and no one else was there. We were surprised to see all the webs. We were able to play on just a few things before my kids were too spooked and we were too. If the webs wouldn't have been there then it would've been wonderful. It has a smaller structure and a bigger one. It's right by the marina so a lovely location.

Though we have visited Ludington inumerable times over the years, we have never been in Waterfront Park. Located on Pere Marquette Lake, near the marina, it is a vast expanse of beautiful, thick green lawn, clean and neat sidewalks, some smaller shade trees, nice landscaping, a gazebo (too bad you can't sit in it-no benches), and some flowers here and there with great views of the lake, marina and boating traffic.
There is an awesome playground for kids, parking (there should be more parking..), bathrooms, picnic tables, benches and even some night lighting.
But it is also part of a sculpture park, with nine bronzed sculptures that represent life that is Ludington-past, present. Baseball, farming, lumbering, fishing, etc and they are really spectacular. We were so surprised and pleased to see these and really enjoyed our time walking around the 5 acre park taking in all the sculptures and views.
We had a picnic under a couple of mugo pines, that provided excellent shade. There are grills located nearby. It was a very enjoyable afternoon for us and we will always make it a point to visit this park when in Ludington. It is very clean and pretty quiet!

Lived in Michigan now for 15 years but had not been to Ludington until this week. This beach was beautiful, clean (groomed) and best of all handicap accessible for our daughter. Beautiful beach area!

Lovely beach! Lots of room. Concession stands, washrooms. A nice walk on the pier. Big fish off the pier, too.

The waterfont park located in the harbor district between the two marinas, offers family friendly amenities that few parks in any cities have.
The view of the channel that leads to Lake Michigan is picturesque and features yachts, fishing boats, and the famous Badger carferry leaving twice daily for it's trips to Wisconsin.
The park offers a variety of ecletic statues that attest to the historic development of Ludington and also to the cultural aspects of the local people.
The playground is complete with all types of traditional and interactive slides and climbing apparatus.
The open commons is immaculately maintained and plush.
There is a bandshell that is multi-purpose for entertainment and also organized event friendly.
Recently a weekend music festival played host to a ticket of 35 bands that were a mixture of local acts and also from as far away as Alaska.

We walked Lake Michigan Shoreline and for a long time, we collect beach glass and had a lot of fun the water was warm and only a few waves most of the time it made finding the beach glass even easier. Also we went to The Dairy Queen twice, it was so good. Grilled out, porterhouse stakes, potatoes and corn on the cob. There was also fireworks at my Sister's neighbors in Pentwater and ate at the Country Kubboard in Ludington. Took a long drive through the country on Lakeshore drive saw a lot of deer and heard a few coyotes at night. GREAT TIME.

Great place to walk along the shore!! Wide improved sidewalks. Lots of art sculptures that had local history. We learned the area was related to most of nations salt. Never would have known. Beautiful harbor filled with recreational boats is the perfect setting for this park. There’s a huge fun playground for kids too. The sidewalk has rail/fence along the water for safety so no one could fall into the lake. Stop here and wander. It’s enjoyable and free!

Pack a lunch and bring your swim gear to enjoy the waterfront part and beach. The waves are fun and the walk to the lighthouse is a good time. Check out when the Ferry is arriving/departing... that's a treat to see.
