I have lived in this city all my 65 yrs. on this earth and still love going to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. It still has the real mummy that I use to go and see when I was a child. They also have a planetarium that is spectacular and many things a child can do. They have different themes that... More

My dad and I visited recently, and it's a great museum! I really like the artifacts that are on the wall. There are a few kiosks you can walk up to see what the artifacts are and what year(s) they dated from. My favorite part was when you walk upstairs to hear "I've got a gal in Kalamazoo." I really... I took my 3 and 8 year old over spring break. They had a bunch of special activities set up for the influx of extra kids for the week. My son, 8, who is very intelligent and loves learning, had a great time. My daughter however, just had an ok time. I think there's an age range missing there. There... More

This is a great little gem in the City. We went there to see what was new, having been there years ago. We started on the top floor and worked our way down. We saw an interesting quilt exhibit that highlighted important events and/or individuals in the Black Community. There were a lot to take in, and each one had... More

Our extended family, ten of us, spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon there recently. There is something there for all ages, including a wonderful children's area. Parking ramp is just around the corner and an easy walk away.

KVM is a wonderful museum, highlighting both the history of the city of Kalamazoo and its surrounding areas, and science, through the use of wonderful displays and hands on interactive centers. Children from 3 to 93 will enjoy being part of an old-time string band, "eating" at an old fashioned diner, trying their hand at a live TV broadcast, and... More

They have a variety of very interesting permanent exhibits, and their temporary exhibits are always interesting. Staff overall is friendly and interested in answering questions. Lots of things for children, too. Good use of interactive materials and technology. They bring in the community with music and storytelling festivals, special activities during school vacations, etc.

The museum is great for anyone! A great resource for local history. Look out for special speaker series they may have.
