A visit to Nelis' Dutch Village is like a step back into the Netherlands of over 100 years ago on a day when a festival came to town. Demonstrations and performances; tastes, sight and sounds; and something to interest all ages. Unique shopping too.

Nelis' Dutch Village was a very neat place to visit. We checked out the wooden shoe demonstration, which was cool, and also learned a little about life on a Dutch farm. The ice cream shop in the village was a nice treat as well. The souvenir shop was huge, and expensive, but the items were nice with high quality. I... More

Took my 10 year old to the Dutch Village during the week (before school let out) so it was very quiet. I had been here as a kid and it brought back many fond memories. Definitely not something older kids/teenagers would probably like. Small rides (ferris wheel, swing, carousel) and playground area for smaller children. My daughter liked the barn... More

Dutch Village is the perfect size and place to go with young children. There is a petting zoo and a few rides geared towards kids. The place is very quaint. There is a restaurant on site offering some Dutch foods. There is even a bar to get a drink. We had a pleasant afternoon wandering the village with our 2... More

Very informative on Dutch history. We watched a short film. Learned about wooden shoe carving, and cheese making. There was a barn where the kids could pet bunnies and goats. See lamb, and pigs. There are a few rides that the group enjoyed. There is also some Dutch dancing performances.

Nelis' Futch Village was an amazing place for my family to gather. The prices were excellent! All we had to pay for was our ticket to get in. The rides were free and super fun. That is definitely a place a would re-visit!!

Visiting as a Dutchman, I was expecting it to feel very 'touristy' Dutch, and not authentic. However, I was pleasantly surprised how much it felt like 'home'. The food, the looks, and even the sounds (orgel and church bells) all came together to make it feel very real. Living in Chicago, it is much easier and cheaper to visit Holland,... More

A group of 25 seniors visited Nelis Dutch Village this past Tuesday. We had two tour guides for our group and basically had the village to ourselves after last week's tulip time festival. It was a wonderful experience. And, respectfully, I have to disagree with an earlier review. Yes, there were shops but the vast majority of the buildings provided... More
