This is a nice stop along the tunnel of trees. It is $5 per car unless you live in the township. There is a nice indoor area with plenty of learning opportunities. The trails are well maintained and you get some great views of Lake Michigan. Well worth the time and the $5.

We visited as part of a group of 10 lawyers and their spouses (I was a spouse) on a firm retreat. While 30 acres is quite small (we live next to a 130 acre preserve in TROY, MI) the winding pathways with many boardwalks inch down through various stands of timber (some stands of dying/dead ash trees - the work... Just a few minutes north of Harbor Springs you will find this little jewel of a park. Nicely maintained, and with the staff living on the site, this is an easy boardwalk through the habitat out to Little Traverse Bay. Kids are welcomed and encouraged, and the views are some of the best on this side of the state. You... More

We decided to try out the nature preserve and we are so glad we did! Beautiful trails that led to a beautiful sandy beach! The nature center was fun and I especially loved all of the monarch information. One of our kids got stung by a bee on the way back from the beach and the owner grabbed us a... More

Narrow, winding pathways make for a very pleasant, fun walk in the woods. The beach is nearly empty and of course beautiful, and we got to see a few frogs. If you're looking for a learning experience for children (or adults), the center has great displays in the building too.

What a relaxing experience. Before we walked the path we went to little museum which was small but interesting. We walked to the lake and sat at the shore then to the look out it was just beautiful. Many trees were labeled which I enjoyed. My favorite part though was the babbling stream, loved it!

Take a walk through this wonderful Preserve. Information for those who want to learn and beauty for all! The walk is short and very pleasant. Bring a camera. Relax looking out at Lake Michigan. Very well run and very informative staff. Please support their efforts.

Such a beautiful and tranquil setting. Boardwalk a bit narrow and sharply angled for motorized chairs, but plenty to do there anyway. We sat in the gazebo and watched Sasha come munch on goat chow while keeping a wary eye on us. Though the day was warm, we were kept cool by the beautiful forest and the slight breeze. We'll... We had to take a 15-20 minute detour to get to the preserve (the road was closed) but it was worth it. A helpful guide gave us a few options for hiking and highlighted what we shouldn't miss. The trail was well maintained and a very easy hike with our children. We really enjoyed the small beach area and seeing... More
