Albert Park is a combination grassy park, large lake, community project (children's play areas), place to see wildlife (great birding for a foreigner), and F1 racetrack at certain times of year! It's free to walk through and quite large, and there is a small restaurant...More

I attempted to walk around this park a couple of weeks prior to the late March 2017 Australian Grand Prix. Instead of a pleasant walk enjoying the native grasses, lake, black swans, cygnets and ducks, I was presented with metre after metre of ugly fencing...More

Went here as the Taste of Melbourne was on. Easy to get to on a tram. Weather was fantastic,so walking around the venue and then the park itself was nice. Good place for families.

Stopped by the Apex playground near the bowls club on the western side of the park - just great for kids around the 4-7 age group. Lots of different places to explore and thankfully for a hot summer day, lots of shade for parents watching...More

Hi Lou C, There's lots of open space at Albert Park; great for a casual game of football, frisbee, jogging or a picnic. Playing on the fields shouldn't be an issue, as long as there's no games on! The Visitor Guide (Park... More

Hi, Other than F1 race, what is the Pit building used for between May to Dec? Is the building rented out for other events and if so, what kind of events? Who manages and maintain the building? Thank you Maidin
