We’ve endured some hot summer days at big city zoos, so the adults were not thrilled at the thought of another zoo day. But we were pleasantly surprised by the John Ball Zoo. It’s just the right size that it isn’t exhausting, even on a...More

We visited recently, on a very hot day. There weren't many food options, and on top of that, they seemed to be running out of everything early in the day. The animals seem well-cared for. The souvenirs were reasonably priced. Great day outing!

The kids really enjoyed this zoo. It's small enough to get through in half a day, but large enough that you feel like you saw some interesting animals. The staff is very knowledgeable about the animals and are great at giving age appropriate tips to...More

This isn't the San Diego or Bronx Zoo in scale, but it has personality. It is clean, all very walkable, and some exhibits get up close, but at a safe distance from animals. I'll go back.

Took my kid here for years and they never had a dull time. Watching the monkeys and petting the stingrays were some of the better highlights

Comfortable walking paths, lush vegetation and remodeled expanded habitats make this a fun zoo experience. At times it feels more like a jungle walk than a city zoo. Animals have room to roam and rest rather than pace endlessly in small contained spaces.

This isn't a huge place, so don't plan on spending all day here unless you're carting around a dozen kids! Very clean. Nice variety of animals. Lots of uphill walking. Staff was plentiful and knowledgeable about the animals - answered all kinds of questions and...More

Excellent, large tiger habitat. Exciting bird show. Lots of shade. Nice and cool in the reptile and anphibian habitats. The funicular is worth it, especially if you want to see the tigers and do not want to climb the hill. I love this zoo!

June 1st, our child's school & a million other near by schools attended the zoo, it was fun & pure chaos! It was way too hot for child & the animals who had the right idea ( hide in the shade), parking was ridiculous!
