The Grand Rapids museum is nostalgic for me. Been frequenting the facility since 1965 something! It never disappoints my inquisitive self. To be honest I enjoyed the old building -exhibition facility previous to current location on pearl street. But having said that, the new newer is smaller with less exhibit space and much of what was shown is in storage... More

Everyone in our family love the museum. So many attractions. The carousel, history of the native Americans, flying along the Grand river to Lake Michigan, and walking the streets of old Grand Rapids are some of the mainstays. The traveling exhibits are the best. Legos, dinosaurs, Pirates, and ancient Egypt have intrigued all of us, and we've learned a lot.... More

Haven't been for a couple of years, but the system only lets you go back 1 year. We've been to the TITANIC exhibit and the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit. Also to see the Pink Floyd Laser Light Show in the planetarium. Looking forward to checking out the regular planetarium show hopefully next week, when my wife is on vacation. Even... More

Hi Daniel, Thank you for the review! We hope you do make it to see a planetarium show soon! We wanted to let you know that we will have "The Robot Zoo," a traveling exhibit that opens beginning this coming Sunday! It's a great exhibit using 8 larger than life robotic animals to teach visitors about how real animals work... More

I'm not a big museum fan - the the GRPM is really nice and large. Has some really cool historic pieces on display - a great place to learn more about Michigan & Grand Rapids!

This is a museum that is ever changing, with new and different exhibits. We last went to see the King Tut Exhibition and it was just wonderful. Having said that, we also enjoyed the natural history area and the history of Grand Rapids and all the displays of the families who settled the area and made Grand Rapids the city... More

Love the Grand Rapids Public museum. This was our third visit and again we had a wonderful time. Love the layout and the special exhibits. We live on the east side of Michigan but purchased a family membership because we know we will back again this summer. We walk over from the JW Marriott but having the option of parking... More

I am a member and enjoy the changing exhibits. Recently, two of them that I found to be good were the Rosa Parks and the Lake Sturgeon exhibits. The Rosa Parks exhibit does an excellent job explaining Rosa's role in history not only as a famous female African-American woman who refused to give up her seat on a bus but... More

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is not only educational, it is a fun place to bring your kids. Along with the many great events and exhibits, there is a merry-go-round and planetarium to are very kid friendly. You won't be disappointed with this museum - my family loves it and we go often!

We were there for the King Tut's exhibit and it was everything I had dreamed it would be and more. The streets of Grand Rapids is fun. So is the giant whale and the natural history part of the museum.
